MOL has been a global leader in the use of the PI System to deliver transformative business value. Core to accomplishing this has been their use of a "layers of analytics", evolutionary approach with strong operational/SME involvement and leadership. PI AF/EF has been foundational to the journey to advanced analytics in a Microsoft Azure environment. While successful, a desire to have broader capabilities and users in addition to supporting self service, MOL made a strategic decision to move towards a new advanced analytics environment with Hadoop/Cloudara and redefine the roles between IT/and OT.
This presentation will discuss this change and also highlight continued evolution of PI AF real-time analytics in the areas of Integrity Operating Envelopes, advanced corrosion analytics, and other analytical applications.
Best practices and perspectives will be also discussed.
