For decades, NOV has been a leading supplier of oil and gas equipment. To further enhance its leadership, NOV is integrating digital services and capabilities across their entire portfolio of products and services by leveraging the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and big data technologies. The OSISoft PI System is a component of NOV's MaxTM IIOT data platform. This presentation will give you an overview of NOV's digital transformation strategy, the role of the PI System, and the value proposition to the industry.

Hege Kverneland
Hege has more than 25 years of extensive engineering and product management background, contributing to quality assurance, research and product development. Hege began with FluScan in 1991, acquired by Hitec in 1994, and thereby joining National Oilwell® through acquisition in 1999. She has authored numerous SPE/IADC papers within drilling as well as two textbooks on Offshore Hydraulics. She held the position as Corporate R&D manager in National Oilwell Varco from 2001 to 2009 and contributed in several new product developments in this period, including a new Mud Pump Design, different PM-motor designs, Winches, Heave Compensation Systems, Automation and Drilling Optimization projects. In 2009, she was promoted to her current position as Corporate VP and CTO. She is and has served on several SPE / IADC committees, and is currently member of the 2016 ONS Innovation Award Jury. Hege received an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science in 1990 and graduated from the General Management Program (GMP) in Harvard Business School in 2009.
